What is the Google local pack?

The Local Pack is the map-based box showing 3 businesses that appears above organic results for local searches. Google ranks it based on three factors:

  • Relevance — Does your business match the search?
  • Distance — How close are you to the searcher?
  • Prominence — How trusted and well-known is your business online?
You can't control distance. But you have enormous influence over the other two.
